MEGA International, the global leader in business process analysis and enterprise architecture, today introduced two major SOA initiatives with Software AG and The SOA Monitor.
MEGA International has joined Software AG’s CentraSite™ Community, as a strategic sponsor. CentraSite Community, an initiative from Software AG and Fujitsu, brings partners and customers together to create a complete service-oriented architecture (SOA) ecosystem, where customers can access information and solutions to successfully design, deploy, and manage a SOA.
At the same time, MEGA International announced a business alliance with The SOA Monitor, a SOA services company that helps enterprises use SOA-based solutions to address enterprise requirements and challenges. As an innovative SOA services company, The SOA Monitor helps customers adopt and deploy service orientation through expert consulting, training, and publications.
“This SOA initiative by MEGA International is unique and provides critical value to the market from industry-leading experts to deliver SOA quickly and efficiently to enterprises,” noted Michelle Miakos, senior vice president, MEGA International.
Through the MEGA Suite’s proven enterprise architecture (EA) and business process analysis (BPA) solutions, MEGA International offers companies a multi-layer view of their business, encompassing business strategy, operational and IT requirements, IT systems, and service specifications. This modeling solution helps enterprises understand the effects of process change before implementation, and reduce risk, costs and delays.
Software AG CentraSite Community
Together, Software AG and MEGA can shorten the time between business process design and implementation by automating the translation of high-level process analysis into specific business process management (BPM) steps.
MEGA International will integrate the MEGA Suite and CentraSite to ensure consistent SOA implementations, from business process description to service orchestration. This will allow customers to search for the right services in the CentraSite registry and to reuse existing services in their business process optimization project. In addition, MEGA International will help design the orchestration of these services and export service definitions automatically into CentraSite using XPDL.
“All CentraSite users will benefit from MEGA International’s established approach of defining business-driven services. With the MEGA Suite, customers will be able to design services that are clearly related to business functions and technical architecture, thereby eliminating the need and the risk of translating design material from one tool into a SOA implementation tool separately,” explained Miakos.
The SOA Monitor
The MEGA Suite provides the software to incorporate SOA into the business and IT models of EA. The SOA Monitor uses MEGA International’s solutions to make SOA planning and implementation easier and to support the analyses required for sound business and technical decisions. The SOA Monitor also helps customers already using MEGA for process, EA, compliance, or ERP projects to launch successful SOA initiatives.
“Our approach helps companies easily mix and match discrete services to create new applications or deliver new business capabilities, especially in legacy environments,” explained Rob Geier, principal with The SOA Monitor. “MEGA’s proven modeling expertise, combined with The SOA Monitor’s discrete offerings, help customers address specific pain points and the diverse challenges of SOA adoption.”
The alliance is based on a unique combination of software, consulting, and training services from both companies to deliver SOA to enterprises seeking rapid deployment and better business alignment, and avoid the risk of failed initiatives.
